Hidden Within
The film 'Hidden Within' seeks to share the experiences of the intensity that can arise when autism collides with mental health difficulties. It demonstrates the sensory issues experienced by many on the spectrum, as well as the struggles that come with living as an autistic person in an unpredictable, fast-paced world, focused largely on image and striving for acceptance.
The final scene alludes to the societal pressure to 'mask' our true selves; to hide our autistic traits and mental health challenges which often resulted, for many of us, in judgement.
