Conversations Through Womanhood
Navigating the world we live in as women is fraught with issues that shape experience and colour perspective.
As some form of antidote to this, the Conversations Through Womanhood project hopes to facilitate a conversation that fosters positivity, support, connection, empowerment and pleasure.
A conversation that portrays the female experience, through its challenges and difficulties, giving real life examples of how women have persevered to find light, comfort, personal strengths and resilience.
The 9 small books in the Conversations Through Womanhood Library are based on 9 different themes that featured in 11 conversations with 11 different women.
All of the words and drawings were produced through a creative interview process between artist and participants. The poems within the library bring together the voices of all 11 participants to express thoughts, experiences and reflections through the lens of womanhood.
